Summer heat is waning, days are growing shorter, and thoughts of cozy knitting are more frequent. Do you have plans for your fall makes? will this be the year you tackle knitting socks? Colorwork? What's in Store for The Knotty Knittress?
We have upcoming events you won't want to miss out on, Starting with Make a Hat Day! Join us in celebrating by casting on a new hat—or finishing one that’s already on your needles. We’ve got a wonderful selection of hat patterns from top designers, all available in-store on Ravelry. Come pick out your yarn and let’s knit and crochet together! Get a head start (pun intended!) on the holidays! Stop by the shop on September 15 to celebrate this yarnie holiday with us! We'll open up special hours since it's a Monday, Noon - 4pm! Get ready to embark into the whimsical world of stranded colorwork. Doodle Cowl Class Thursday September 18th 3pm - 5pm. Perfect for knitters of all levels, this class is your ticket to designing and knitting your very own vibrant projects using mix-and-match motifs available in the Doodle Pattern Series. Learn the basics of Swedish Weaving, also known as Huck Weaving. Tuesday September 23rd 3pm to 5pm. We will learn the basics on how to read charts and apply the knowledge to creating a book mark. All materials and instruction will be provided for this class.
We have a one day trunk show coming up in October with Always Be Kind Yarn. Laura will bring in some of her brilliant and bright yarns as well as samples. Look out for a special email with details to come.
Andi will be away from the shop Friday September 26th and Saturday September 27th for a much needed weekend away. Doors will still be open. Friday Fiber Friends & Saturday Stitches will still be held. Bobby, the dyer behind Hearing Colors Dyeworks, will be running the shop. Please have patience and grace with him, as he has minimal skills at knit and crochet. So save any stitching help you may need for another day. He is great at colors so if you need help in that area ask away.
Speaking of colors have you picked your colors out for the WestKnits Mystery MusiKAL? The Westknits MKAL is an annual, multi-week knit a long hosted by designer Stephen West, where participants knit a surprise shawl pattern by receiving a new section of the pattern each week in October. The shape and design of the shawl are a complete mystery until the final clue is released, and the MKAL includes community discussion, support, and video tutorials to help knitters learn new techniques and create the final show-stopping shawl. If your joining in stop in and pick out your colors we have lots to choose from. Then join us for the Cast on Party Thursday October 2nd 12pm - 3pm! And each of the following Thursdays thru the 23rd we will Have a Clue Drop gathering 12pm - 3pm.
