Our Cairo 4 yarn is the Renaissance of the camel fibers, not as a woven coat or jacket but as a base for own knitting ideas.

The hair coat of the camels includes underwool, middle hair and coarse hair. It is similar to the cashmere. A fiber diameter of the underwool is 16-20 microns, while a middle hair diameter amounts to 20-29 microns.

The camel wool Cairo 4 is obtained from the underwool of the baby camels and then evenly spun to the strong and at the same time soft threads.

Cairo 4 is very easy handled and builds a very uniform knit structure. It is a perfect yarn for all kinds of samples and suitable for warming clothes. Baby Camel doesn’t split when knitting and has a light fluff. But it is not that strong as by the alpaca wool. The yarn doesn’t go fluffier neither while knitting nor by wearing of the knitted cloth.

With this baby camel hair yarn you can knit sweatshirts, pullovers, shawls, baby clothing, caps, mufflers or leg and arm warmers. Whatever you knit it will be a good gift for yourself or for ones you love.

The camel fibers come from Inner Mongolia and then spun in China. The dyeing process takes place in Portugal. The yarn has not been bleached before dyeing in order to save the environment and not to spoil the natural fibers. Because of the presented natural color of the camel fibers they get dark coloration after dyeing.

Care:

Wash your knitted article best by hand, handwarm at a temperature of not more than 30°c, but not in the wash machine. Please use exclusively a detergent for wool and dry the article only placed lying down best on the terry towel to get rid of the deformations! You can also dry it on the foam plastic hangers but far away from the heat source!
